This site will provide details of the Under 10’s set-up, match reports, off-field activities and all the statistics for the coming season.
All Under 10’s home games take place at Hartsdown Park with kick-off usually 2:00 pm on a Sunday Afternoon.
Thanet Colts are fortunate to be sponsored by McDonalds Westwood though all credit should go to Michele who won a competition on behalf of the boys for a new kit at the start of the 2008/2009 season. New sponsors though are continually wanted though to provide jackets, waterproofs etc!
As the Manager I am keen that all players are full appreciative that football is a team game and as such a great deal of time is spent in training sessions on passing and movement with each player free to express themselves with skills they have learnt. It always gives me as much pleasure to see the team playing flowing football as it does to see the great friendships they have built off-pitch as well.
All the boys’ hard work has paid dividends with on field success in tournaments such as Herne Bay Youth in 2009 and Deal Town Rangers and Ramsgate Youth in 2008. This success has not gone unnoticed with the Under 10’s being invited to take part in the FA and McDonalds Football festival held at Wembley Stadium in August 2009 (full report will appear later).
Thanet Colts Under 10’s is not just about football though with regular social events taking place. These have included Christmas parties at Laser Quest, parties held at McDonalds kindly provided by our sponsor and the now famous (or infamous) summer beach BBQ.
Lastly I would like to thank all those that help make the Under 10’s the great team that they are, especially Michele for acting as treasurer and admin expert but also to all parents, grandparents, carers, brothers, sisters and supporters for their continued enthusiasm and support. We look forward to welcoming both new players and supports alike.
How qualified/capable is your football team's registered first aider?
Qualified and fully capable
Has done some basic training but is hardly qualified. It's just to meet regulations really.
Don't have a registered first aider - we blag it!
Don't officially need a registered first aider
Don't even know who our first aider is!
